Deede Denton is an avid traveler and nature lover with an eye for color and a strong foundation in the elements of design. She is drawn to quiet, intimate scenes and hidden or overlooked items in the world around her. Deede finds joy in her photography and uses it as a creative outlet to share her unique vision and passion for travel, art, and nature with others.
From an early age, Deede was fascinated by the pages of National Geographic magazine, where travel and nature come together through the beautiful pictures within each issue. She received her first camera at the age of eight as a surprise gift prior to a family vacation, which launched her own photographic journey. An exciting photojournalism class in college and the emergence of the digital photography platform enabled new avenues of pursuit. Her love and exploration of photography has opened a new world of friends, mentors, study, learning, and adventures.
Deede is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and calls herself a southern girl at heart. No matter where she travels, she happily returns to the bustle of the city and the beautiful landscapes, rolling hills, and sandy beaches of the Carolinas.
Deede is an active member and former president of Charlotte Camera Club and a member of the Carolinas Nature Photographers Association.
