Floyd McCarty

Floyd McCarty was born on June 22nd in 1913 and his professional career spanned more than four decades (1929 - 1975). Although he only attended school through the 7th grade, he worked for various newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Examiner, The Daily News and The Chicago Sun.  He additionally worked for several film studios, including Warner Brothers, Columbia and Universal. His most prominent photographic subjects included James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Debbie Reynolds, Natalie Wood, Henry Fonda, John Wayne and Doris Day. He was a still photographer for many films as well, including East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause, Baby Doll and Sayonara. McCarty passed away on October the 5th of 1999.
