Andrea Alberts

Andrea Alberts is a fourth-generation photographer. A California native, originally from Beverly Hills, Alberts graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in art history. She also earned her master’s degree in photography from New York University. Alberts spent more than 25 years in New York City as a successful fashion and beauty photographer.

She has shot on location all over the world, photographing major ad campaigns for clients such as Gitano Jeans, Maidenform, K-Mart and Target, as well as covers, celebrities, and editorial assignments for most Condé Nast and Hearst magazines including Vogue, Glamour, Self, and Harper’s Bazaar. The roster of talent she's photographed include Barbara Walters, Whitney Houston, Diane Arbus, Demi Moore and W. Eugene Smith, to name just a handful.

In an interview Bea Fitler gave to The New York Times in 1981, she spoke glowingly of Alberts. "I see many photographers who have a basic talent, but they have not developed a point of view, a mode of expression that is different from other photographers." Fitler was the art director for Harper's Bazaar during Alberts' time there.

Alberts currently resides in Los Angeles.
